Freda Levy, M.D.
with DNA since 1994
Dr. Freda Levy
joined DNA in 1994 after relocating from Nashville, Tennessee. She
completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical
School in Dallas. She then moved to Richmond, Virginia at the Medical
College of Virginia for her Internship and Residency. She returned to
Texas in 1988 for Nephrology Fellowship. She was appointed as a
visiting scientist at UT Southwestern Center for Mineral Metabolism and
Clinical Research in Dallas, after which time she returned to
Tennessee. During the time in Tennessee, she was an Assistant Professor
of Medicine at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and also the
co-director of Vanderbilt Stone Center in Nashville. Since moving back
to Dallas she has been a staff physician for DNA and a medical director
at an outpatient dialysis facility. In 2000, Dr. Levy was elected the
Chief of Nephrology at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a position she
still currently holds; and also is a member of the Methodist Dallas
Medical Center Executive Committee. At Methodist she is involved with
caring for both transplant and chronic kidney disease patients. Her
field of interest is the diagnosis and treatment of kidney stones. A
recent accomplishment is her election to the Fellowship of the American
College of Physicians. She sees patients from our Bishop Office
