Dallas Transplant Institute (DTI)

Did you know? A living donated kidney may come from a family member, good friend, spouse, in-law or even from a stranger who is in good health and has normal kidney function.

Dallas Transplant Institute (DTI) provides one of the most complete and up-to-date transplant programs in the world. It provides medical evaluation to patients who are being considered for a kidney transplant and also provides follow-up medical care to patients who have received a transplant. It has grown to meet the many needs of transplant patients with a commitment to provide complete services for kidney and kidney/pancreas transplant patients. Additionally, DNA physicians also participate in immunosuppressive and medical management in the liver and heart transplant programs throughout the city.

DNA physicians assisted in the initial development of the transplantation program at Parkland Memorial Hospital in the early 1970’s. They later developed the Methodist Medical Center transplant program, which performed their first kidney transplant in 1981. DNA physicians are in leadership roles in the transplant programs at major hospitals located in Dallas and Fort Worth.

Dallas Transplant Institute, owned and operated by DNA, opened in June 1981 and is currently located at 3604 Live Oak St., Suite 100, Dallas, TX 75204.

Dr. David Nesser serves as Medical Director of DTI. He, along with several other DNA transplant physicians affiliated with the transplant programs at Baylor Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons Transplant Institute, Baylor All Saints in Ft.
