Dr. Hays Receives Prestigious ACP Mastership Title

Dallas Nephrology Associates proudly announces that Steven R. Hays, MD, FACP has been honored with the prestigious Mastership recognition by the American College of Physicians. Dr. Hays is one of only four physicians in Texas—and 56 globally—to receive the prestigious MACP title.

The American College of Physicians recognizes excellence and distinguished contributions to Internal Medicine through its awards program. Masterships are awarded based on nominations from peers, mentors and other colleagues.

“My election to Mastership in the American College of Physicians is the greatest honor I have received in my practice of medicine,” Dr. Hays says. “I would like to thank the American College of Physicians for guiding me during my years spent in research, teaching, advocacy, and most of all patient care. I ask my colleagues that they also consider being active and involved in the American College of Physicians to help make the practice of Medicine enjoyable and rewarding for all. I thank Dallas Nephrology Associates and my partners for supporting me during this time.”

The MACP nomination process is confidential. According to the ACP, “the College receives a large number of excellent nominees for Mastership each year among a pool of highly distinguished Fellows, but only about 50 Masterships are awarded.”

Dr. Hays has been practicing for 38 years. He received his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Dr. Hays completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he also went on to complete his Nephrology fellowship.
